Feet

A dwindling world below my weary feet

summer nights fly swiftly like a soul to greet

I’m wandering in this life and next; the air is sweet

A sacred glide; invisibility is my most significant feat.

Bright feathers grow, my wings spread fast,

I ascend above the scarlet sand and blend with navy ice

Tangle in grey clouds that dance like scattering. Mice.

The trouble is landing; I fall from the eyes of grace.

I crumble back to earth; the nightmare come true

I rise from a cold sweat that stings with each groove.

My body shakes violently, nothing I dreamt was real

The feeling of being free is my waking life steals
